Creation of Merchandise

From the research stages, I found that the importance of branded merchandise is essential to help an artist establish themselves with a recognizable trademark, as well as give the fans an outlet to be connected to the artist. The title of the album, in the same colour and typeface was recreated on Photoshop, the use of the same typography as the EP cover helps to establish a reconcilable trademark for the artist album, thus promoting the music on the merchandise fans wear.
The album title was then placed onto a plain black hoodie on photoshop to create what the merchandise would look like if it were to be made. The positioning of the album title had to be edited so that it would sit in the correct position on the hoodie/ wearers back. This process of creating the trademarks for the artist such as the King Pink logo and the three neon ovals (reflective of the EP covers art)  was repeated and placed onto various items of clothing and key chains to establish a collection of King Pink Merchandise to be edited into the websites artist shop.

Digipak Original ideas :

The first idea for the digipak design was a collage type artwork taking inspiration from artists existing digipaks such as Fickle Friends Brooklyn E.P. However, the design didn't really reflect the disco image that I want to imply as part of the Artists Image.

To fit with the neon lighting of the fairground in the music video, I have chosen to change the theme of the digipak to a a dark background and bright colour type of theme in order to fit with the typical conventions of Disco music. therefore audiences will know what type if music they're investing in just by the albums artwork.
The following idea I am developing is to have a club hallway theme to it with neon strip lighting in order to create an interesting visual effect that symbolises the disco genre of the track.

Video Diaries

A collection of shots taken in between filming the video that explain the plan and how it was going at the time.

People involved in the video

The actors that feature in the video need to have a certain type of aesthetic in order to fit with the genre of the music video. Conventionally, Disco music videos tend to feature younger, attractive in appearance actors, therefore the actors selected fit this convention in order to create an effective disco video that fits these typical conventions.

Freya Tarbit-
Will feature as part of the narrative of the video. As the narrative at the fair location will be shot in POV, Freya will be the main feature of this part of the video.

Harri Tyler-
Will feature as the main performer of the video as he will be the artist if the track.

Equipment List

Both a DSLR Camera and Camcorder will be used . The Camera will be used for the majority of the filming on the ground on location and for the performance element of the video. As I plan to film on rides at the fair location, a camcorder will be more practical to use do to the constant movement.

A combination of lighting will be used throughout the video, for the performance element it will mostly be white and coloured lighting, However, on location there will be coloured and strobe lighting from the rides used in the video.

Location - Fair

The original chosen location for the music video was Goose Fair in Nottingham. Filming at the fair surrounded by the general public is going to be a challenge, after looking at the goose fair on the opening night as it was open for 5 days, the decision was made that it was too busy to film  successful shots. However, the fair splits off and moves to a smaller fair at Ilkeston, which will be easier to film at as it will be slightly less busy and there will be less of a risk with the equipment in a less busy place. Therefore Ilkeston fair is the more likely option for the location filming.
