Online Digipaks

With the growing popularity of streaming music, and streaming services offering monthly subscriptions, the popularity of purchasing CD's especially of less well known artists is declining. This has caused up and coming artists to upload their music to sites such as iTunes and Spotify rather than producing physical copies in order to lessen the cost of producing music. The two album covers are from new disco artists that have made their music only available online thus haven't produced any digipaks. However the front covers both symbolise the disco genre from the bright and contrasting colours of the fickle friends album, instantly grabbing audiences attention with the interesting and unexplained imagery. The bands name is situated in the top left corner larger than the name of the album 'glue' in the bottom right corner, however they both share the same typeface which is not always consistent with other digipak cover of this genre. The Ekkah album cover is simply just one image of the bands name in balloons. The silver/monochromatic appearance does cause audiences to associate the image with vintage disco/pop music due to the streamers and colour grading of the image to make it appear older.
