As I have been working in a pair, Georgia started to create the website for the King Pink artist we have created across the three media products. The surrounding images are the first draft of the website before the photo shoot. The tour/latest news page has a flashing effect behind it which we have decided was very distracting which needs changing. Also there is a lack of website content which also will need developing as there is only the home page.
The image to the right is the websites home page once the photo shoot images have been placed in. The first development I made was to edit the back ground to make the website more visually appealing.
I changed the background to the same deign as one of the digital panels and added in the king pink graphic of the artist name. However that image didn't work, so I reverted it back to the original image but edited the existing blemishes and unwanted shadows out of the picture and improved the clarity and contrast to get a better quality image for the face of the website.
I then embedded the twitter and Instagram pages that I previously created onto the home page in order to promote the artist more on social media, reaching a wider target audience. The home page still appeared bare, therefore I went back to the research stages and found other common conventions of webpage homepages.
This is where I took inspiration to promote a New EP I created, the same one as the digi pak, and linked into the texted webpages to buy and stream the new music again to promote the artist as much as possible. I then added in a space for the finished video (once the editing process is finished) which can be accessed from top of the home page by either scrolling down or hovering over the arrow I inserted that is anchored to each section of the home page.
Below the video I anchored another button to scroll down to the news of the latest ep. The buy texts links to the album for sale in the store of the webpage and the streaming links to soundcloud, as the music of such a small artist is likely to appear on soundclound rather than a bigger company such as spotify.
The track list is linked to a light box that shows the tracks of the album pop up on the existing page. I then added a visual element of the social media page to the websites home page eating the artist Instagram feed, again giving fans a further outlet to connect with the artist on a variety of social media platforms. The final improvement made to the home page was adding a new newsletter box for the fans to subscribe to, the reason I created a new one was to allow the thank you message to pop up once an email has been submitted.
To complete the homepage I added a button anchored to the top of the page so that the website will lift all the way back to the top cross bar for users to explore the other pages.
The final minor amendment I made was to the copyright bar at the bottom, making it colourless and adding the 3D effect to the icons to make the boring information at the bottom of the screen much more aesthetically appealing.
